Well, I haven't been on here for quite some time because I was tired of people putting down the customers that Ameritheft has screwed. I do miss the more intelligent bunch who were either screwed and had some compassion for others in the same situation or were, thankfully, on this site and read what others have had to put up with and didn't finance with them. I'm still a customer, unfortunately, but not for long. My prepayment penalty is finally over. You know, this penalty that Ameri*&* tacks on to screw people even more. The funny thing is ... when you look this so-called penalty up on their website, it states that this is your 'jam it up you know where' price you will pay for refinancing elsewhere before a 3-year period. Interest they expected but didn't receive because you realized you were being screwed royally and knew you needed to get the heck away from them. The funny thing is though .... I was told in 2005 that my penalty would be over $6,000. I requested this penalty again almost exactly a year later and, yes guess what, it was the same amount. Hmmmmm .... I do believe they need to update their website with the correct information. But, that would go against all they stand for. I mean, what could a fraudulent, theiving, lying, screw the customers company really put on their website other than lies? They need to reel in more people to rob so they make themselves look like a respectable, honest company. Yeah right. That is as far from the truth as you can get. I regret the day I refinanced with this crap company but, I must admit, I have learned a lot from this horrible experience. I would never, ever sign a contract without reading every single word and having an attorney check it out. The laws are now designed to protect fraudulent companies such as this, not the consumer. I am just thankful there are websites such as ripoff.com. I only wish I had known of it before I signed up with the devil. To all who were unfortunate enough to have done as I did, I wish you well and hope you can hold on to your home. I barely did but so many others were not able. It breaks my heart to read the stories on here of what hell Ameritheft has put them through. It is amazing that they continue to get away with it. Hopefully, someday it will stop. How anyone working for this company can sleep at night is beyond me. You would have to have deceptive characteristics and no conscious to be able to con people, every single day, especially the elderly, the desperate and the uninformed. I happened to fall into the desperate category due to ex problems and I should say I was not uninformed of the kind of company Americrap was. My fault for not researching before jumping into hell with a company I knew little about. I guess I just believed their commercials and advertisements of how they could make your life easier by financing with them. If I only knew then what I know now......
